Ingredients
- 1 cup rolled oats
- ΒΎ cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda (sifted)
- 1Β½ cups unsweetened applesauce
- β cup nut butter (almond butter or tahini work best)
- ΒΌ cup liquid sweetener (use maple syrup with almond butter; use honey with tahini)
- Β½ cup almond, hemp, or oat milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Line a baking pan (about 8x8 or similar) with parchment paper.
- In a blender or food processor, add all ingredients except the nut butter and blend until mostly smooth.
- Add the nut butter last and blend briefly until fully combined (this helps prevent an overly "almond extract" flavor).
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 30β40 minutes, or until the edges look set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean.
- Let cool completely before slicing into squares.
